Says community will get justice after decades of injustice
Srinagar: Peoples’ Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone on Thursday welcomed the Jammu & Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill, 2014 providing reservation to the persons belonging to Pahari community, clan or tribe having distinct cultural, ethnic and linguistic identity, in government jobs.
“This has happened after decades of injustice with the Pahari community and they have finally received justice after political impediments were created over and over again to deprive the community of this affirmative action measure which they rightly deserve. I find
a sense of gratification and joy that this Bill was presente, proposed and passed during my tenure as the Minister for Social Welfare despite many impediments and hurdles. This is a matter of personal satisfaction for me and I congratulate the members of the community
and hope they will continue to contribute richly to this State in all spheres”, Sajad Lone added.
