Shopian, Aug 30: In a continued crackdown on narcotics-related activities, Shopian Police have attached a residential house worth ₹16,77,448 allegedly acquired through proceeds generated from the illegal trade of drugs and narcotics.The property belongs to Hilal Ahmad Dar, son of Gh Ahmad Dar, a resident of Vehil, Shopian, and has been attached in connection with FIR No. 80/2024 registered at Police Station Shopian.The attachment proceedings were conducted in the presence of a duly constituted police team, Executive Magistrate, Lambardar and Chowkidar, with officials ensuring compliance with the prescribed legal procedures and maintaining transparency throughout the process.Shopian Police said the action is part of its ongoing efforts to dismantle the financial networks supporting the illegal drug trade by targeting not only those involved in narcotics-related offences but also assets allegedly generated through illicit activities.Police have urged the general public to come forward and share any information regarding drug trafficking or other narcotics-related activities with the authorities.[KNT]
