Pulwama: Residents of Dangerpora Gangoo, a predominantly Shia-populated locality in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, have appealed to the Deputy Commissioner for uninterrupted electricity and clean drinking water during the upcoming holy month of Muharram.
In their collective appeal, the residents urged the district administration to take timely and effective measures to ensure the availability of these basic necessities so that the community can observe Muharram with due reverence and without unnecessary hardship.
“This sacred month involves night-long religious gatherings, recitations, and processions. Uninterrupted power supply and potable water are essential for these activities to be conducted with dignity,” said one of the residents.
The locals emphasized that access to these amenities would help them carry out Muharram rituals smoothly and respectfully, without facing additional stress caused by utility disruptions.
The residents expressed hope that the administration would act swiftly on their request and uphold the sanctity of the month by ensuring a hassle-free environment for the mourners. [KNT]
