Shopian : At least seven youth were picked up by Government Forces during nocturnal raids in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Reports said that government forces raided few houses in Arhama village of Shopian during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday and detained around seven people.
They were later lodged in police station Shopian for questioning.
Locals while vouche for the innocence of arrested youth identified them as Ishaq Ittoo, son of Ahsan Ittoo, Mehrajuddin Mir, son of Ghulam Qadir Mir, Arshid Lone, son of Abdul Jabbar Lone, Shabir Kulley, son of Rashid Kulley, Ghulam Nabi Mir, son of Qadir Mir, Irfan Ittoo, son of Abdul Rashid, Fayaz Ahmad Mir, son of Muhammad Ahsan Mir.
Reports said the family members of the detained youth made a bee line outside the police station demanding their release. (CNS)
