Horseman killed after falling off horse near holy cave shrine
Anantnag : A 66-year-old man from Andhra Pradesh, who was on pilgrimage, died due to cardiac arrest while a horseman died after falling off a horse on Thursday during Amarnath Yatra in Pahalgam area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag area, officials said here.
An official told that a 66-year-old yatri identified as Kalavala Subrmanym from Andhra Pradesh died of a cardiac arrest at a base camp hospital near the lower cave.
The officials said that the pilgrim was on way to Amarnath cave when he suffered a massive cardiac arrest and was shifted to a base camp hospital, where he breathed his last.
Meanwhile, a horseman, who was ferrying Amarnath Yatris, died after he fell off a horse between the holy cave and Panjtarni area.
The official identified him as Imtiyaz Ahmed Khan, son of Muhammad Yousuf Khan of Chakilpora village of Shangus.
The deceased was married two years back and has an eight-month-old baby, a source said.
Displaying the true traditions of ‘Kashmiriyat’, a horseman sacrificed his own life to save yatri.
His brother said that Imtiyaz lost his own life and saved a yatri—(KNO)
