Kulgam, May 17, : With the surge in Covid-19 cases in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, authorities at once declared 13 villages of the district as ‘Micro Containment Zones.’
An official told that people were requested to stay indoors and follow Covid-19 related lock-down in letter and spirit. “We used Public Address System to make people aware about the gravity of the situation,” the official said.
He identified these 13 villages as Akhran, Nursingpora,Yarikhah, Checki-Hanjan, Sopar, Kharote, Checkpora, Awhatoo,Kaladrang, Matibugh, Sursunoo,Kharbrari and Dessand.
There are other villages already that have been declared as ‘Red Zones’ following the surge in Covid-19 cases. (KNT)
