Srinagar: Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief Mehmood Shah has paid tribute to JeM militant Adil Ahmad who on Thursday carried out a fidayeen attack by ramming the car against the CRPF convoy in Awantipora that left more than a dozen forces personnel dead and several injured.

Mehmood Shah, according to LeT spokesperson Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi, prayed for the “acceptance of his (Adil’s) immense sacrifice for freedom”, a statement issued to GNS said.

He hailed the “freedom fighters” for carrying out such a “massive strike”.

The spokesperson said Shah also paid tribute to Bilal Wani and Shoaib Lone, saying “the youth have chosen their destination and are waging war against the occupational forces for freedom”.

It is New Delhi’s “fantasy” that it can suppress the freedom struggle by killing the youth, the LeT spokesperson quoted Shah as saying.
